Quails-R-US...Plus and Twin Brook Farms: A delicious partnership!
Do you eat a lot of meat? Are you curious about purchasing a quarter-share in a pig, lamb, or steer? Consider joining our multi-farm meat CSA. Twin Brook Farms and Livestock is our neighbor just down the road, specializing in entirely grass-fed beef, grass-fed lamb and goat, and pastured pork. Farm managers Cassie and Erik have become close friends with us, sharing many ideals about how good meat should be raised, and together we've developed a once-monthly all meat CSA. Beyond the guarantee of fresh, local, sustainably raised meat for you and your family, our CSA allows you to get to know your farmers on a first-name basis. What is a CSA?
CSA stands for community-supported agriculture. Similar to a magazine subscription, a CSA relies on a payment from customers upfront. This investment allows the farm to be confident of its customer base and be able to afford the purchases necessary to start the season. The customer then receives a delivery every month of grass-fed lamb, pastured pork, grass-fed beef, and organically-fed chicken. You can pickup at any market, or at either farm. During the market off-season, delivery drop-off points at a central location will be arranged. The CSA saves you the hassle of trying to find enough freezer space for that half-steer and the time it would take to break it down into cuts and ground yourself.
What shares are available?
Our CSA is ideal for all meat-eaters, whether they live alone or with six other people. We offer nine share options, our smallest offering nine pounds of meat every month, and our largest offering twenty. For the full breakdown of each share, check out the link above. We pride ourselves on offering customizable shares. Don't like pork? Not a fan of London broil? No problem! We'll gladly work with you to ensure customer satisfaction.
How do I sign up?
We organize two CSA seasons every year, each lasting five months. Our summer CSA runs from June to October, while our winter CSA runs from December to April. Email Cassie at [email protected] for more information about signing up, choosing a share, and selecting a pick-up location. We do offer pro-rated shares, so don't let the fact that the season has already started stop you from contacting us!
